It was our regular wing-night with a close friend who prefers to remain “untagged” but has pretty strong opinions on both wings and beer. His choice for our next place to explore was Black Water Tavern & Tap in Alden, NY.

JT is never happier than when he sees a bar filled with craft beer taps. Black Water Tavern did the trick! Named after a former spa, we entered a classic tavern, woody and sleek. The server did not know the entire story of the area’s past, but pointed out several photos from history. Apparently, Alden was the place to go for health and spa treatments. Who knew?!
The building has had quite a transformation since its Bath House days! There are several TVs for the sports fan and the fireplace is incredibly inviting.
JT and friend loved the .70 wing special and ordered hot wings with a side of suicide hot. The wings were crisp and saucy and our friend was very happy. This is his favorite style of wing. I’m pretty sure every wing on the table disappeared with only a few tears from the heat.
Black Water has a fun drink list for those not interested in a beer and they have an extensive menu for those who are looking for more than wings. (JT can’t believe this is possible.)
