The Pilafs like to get outdoors as much as possible. Now don’t be intimidated or overly impressed, this does not mean we exercise or partake in any strenuous activity, we just like the outside. So we hike, bird watch, take photos, chill in the park and sometimes just drive for a few hours, watch the roadside scenery, and listen to music. At our age, we now have a complete understanding of our grandparent’s “Sunday Drives.”
One route we love to take is Route 20. There are so many fun stops, and if you get really ambitious, you can take it straight across the state of New York, especially if you don’t stray off to Route 20A…but that is another story!

Livingston County Pizza
We generally pack picnic food to hold us over, but on our way home from Rochester the other day, we needed real fuel. Thankfully, we found a pizza joint just off of Route 20 in Avon that Dra could enjoy. They offered tons of gluten-free items and she was as giddy as could be!
Livingston County Pizza has a full menu of GF options, and it was incredibly hard to choose what she wanted, so Dra ordered lunch AND a chicken finger pizza to go. Pizza lasts for days, right?!

Oh, and did we mention it’s also a bakery? Oh, my! The chocolate cream pie made it all the way home to Buffalo and was enjoyed by everyone there. The cookie for dessert disappeared before the car was even turned on.

The owner and staff are super fun and very friendly. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and tossed in a few corny jokes along the way.
If you are ever hungry while driving through Avon, stop here. This pizza joint knows its food. Every single thing we tried was a Home Run!
Enjoy your day! Support local!
