Just recently, the Pilaf family headed out to celebrate our favorite son. OK, our only favorite son. Thankfully, he chose a place we haven’t written up yet – not that we’re working on his birthday – maybe!

Blackthorn Restaurant & Pub

In the heart of South Buffalo, Blackthorn is known for its American cuisine with an Irish twist. They have a bar area with at least 12 taps (from what we could count) and a dining area that is clean and simple with fun, historical décor. JT was psyched to get the Black & Tan with a cherry wheat base; it made him very happy and it always gets a Home Run. Give it a try!
All of our dinners were fantastic and we were excited to see that the menu could accommodate four differing moods. JT went for the South Buffalo Style wings (no surprise there!) and says they were sooo good.

Home Runs were also given to the chicken fingers, the shepherd’s pie and the filet minion. The biggest hit, however, seemed to be the appetizer prior to the meal. The pretzels, which were like little mini buns, were so good they disappeared before we could get a photo!
We will definitely return to this wonderful establishment with friends. Thank you to Lauren who took great care of us, both she and the other staff receive a Home Run!
Visit Blackthorn and dine in or take food out. Enjoy your day. Support local!
