The Pilafs love to venture over to Glen Park (just off Main Street in Williamsville) when in need of a sense of peace. The waterfall there just brings it on! What we didn’t know, however, is there is a wonderful hiking area just behind it. Amherst State Park is 80 acres and beautifully taken care of. It is both dog and family friendly.

Just past the housing area, is a parking lot for those who would like to enjoy the park. The first part of the park is paved and very spread out, perfect for those who love to walk, run (and graze!)
The paved area is an easy hike and also works for strollers. Note: They request dogs remain on leashes.
Off the paved section, in several directions, are more paths for hiking. One can find fields, ponds for fishing and awesome photo opportunities.

We were amazed at how peaceful the area is and how full of life! This is a great spot for birders, explorers, friends and lovers!
There is also a section just up front that honors our veterans. It is very respectful and well-done.
Enjoy this beautiful spot. Support local.
