And the Car said NO!

The Pilafs started off with great plans this weekend, and the car said, “No!” We had a fun family day trip idea but it was not to be. We promise to make it up to you… however, here is a wonderful idea for tomorrow. Wednesday (and possibly Thursday) is supposed to warm up and be lovely. Go to the water! It’s calling you! In WNY this is an easy task!

The ducks and the birds are beginning to migrate. So since our car wasn’t going on a long trip, we headed down to the Niagara River and watched ducks I’ve never seen before dive completely under the water for food and pop back up in a whole new place. It was fascinating!

Once home, we looked up my photos and compared them to that famous search engine, google, and apparently we were watching a group of Canvasback Ducks. It was peaceful and entertaining.

We also saw Mallard Ducks riding the ice, a group of Red-breasted Mergansers in need of a hair brush (feather brush?), seagulls – who, honestly are beautiful, and an eagle.

There are so many places to walk along the water, but we just parked in a parking lot, played the radio, snacked on some crackers and cheese, and enjoyed the show.

Sometimes it’s good to BE STILL.
